Oil and decking products -- what the range covers
Bona Oil and Decking Systems provide tough, long-lasting protection for internal floors and external decking. The range includes Craft Oil 2K and Hard Wax Oil for interior timber floors, plus Decking Oil and Deck Guard for exterior decking. Bona also provide preparation, cleaning and maintenance products for ongoing care.
Oil soaks into the timber and hardens inside the wood, rather than sitting on top as a film like polyurethane. This gives a natural look with texture you can feel. Oil can be spot-repaired -- if one area gets damaged, sand and re-oil just that spot. With poly you have to do the whole floor.
Bona Craft Oil 2K -- interior floors
Craft Oil 2K is a two-component natural penetrating oil made from modified plant-based oil with very low solvent content. It penetrates deep into the timber to resist water and stains. The unique formula has a long open time and pot life, making it easier to work with.
Available in nine inter-mixable colours: Ash, Frost, Graphite, Clay, Invisible, Neutral, Umbra, Sand and Light Grey. Colours can be blended to create the exact shade desired.
Craft Oil 2K can be used on its own as a quick-drying, high-performance oil, or combined with all Bona Traffic finishes for additional protection. This is the unique advantage -- you get the look and feel of an oiled floor with the protection of a polyurethane topcoat.

Bona Hard Wax Oil -- interior floors
Hard Wax Oil is a canola-based natural oil, low in odour and free from hazardous agents such as cobalt and ketoximes. It delivers the warm look of an oiled floor while establishing a stain-resistant surface that is spot-repairable and easy to maintain.
Hard Wax Oil provides excellent resistance to wear, scuff marks and moisture. It leaves an open, breathing surface that reduces the risk of edge-bonding -- well suited for floors with underfloor heating where boards move more. Easy to handle, applicable with a roller or brush.
For best results, apply a base coat of Bona Craft Oil 2K to improve curing conditions.

Bona Decking Oil -- exterior timber decking
Decking Oil is a modified vegetable-based oil for superior impregnation and long-lasting protection of timber decking and other exterior wood surfaces. It enhances the natural wood grain while protecting against moisture ingress. The formula contains a very low amount of solvents.
Apply 1-2 even thin coats, then buff lightly to remove excess product and enhance the protection. Two layers provide the best results.

Bona Deck Guard -- water-based deck coating
Deck Guard is a fast and convenient water-based coating for outdoor decks. It keeps timber decks in great condition with easy application. Simply clean the surface to remove contaminants, then apply 1-2 coats with an applicator or brush. Clean up with water. Works on solid wood and composite decking.

Cleaning and maintenance for oiled floors
Standard household cleaners have high pH values that are damaging to oiled floors. Use Bona Cleaner for Oiled Floors -- it is specifically designed for use with Bona oil finishes. Tough on dirt but gentle on the floor, it cleans and nourishes the surface for increased protection. Fully biodegradable and non-toxic.
Bona Cleaner for Oiled Floors is GREENGUARD Gold certified. GREENGUARD Gold allows no greater than 1/100 total VOC emissions, ensuring complete safety for allergy-prone or sensitive people including children and the elderly. The product is acceptable for use in schools and healthcare facilities.
Available as a 1 litre trigger spray for spot cleaning, a 0.85 litre mop cartridge for rooms and larger areas, and a 2.5 litre refill. Available in Neutral and Medium Brown.
